About & Methodology

TG Metrix is an independent catalog of public Telegram channels, groups and bots, listed with live data. The catalog currently lists 3,011 communities that meet the criteria below, with 122.1M subscribers and members in total. The data was last updated on November 02, 2026.

How do we collect the data?

• Everything is collected automatically from Telegram's public data — the channel title, description, subscriber count and recent public posts.
• Subscriber counts are recorded every day, which gives every channel a real growth history. Charts and rankings are built from these real snapshots — no invented numbers.
• Metadata for the whole catalog is refreshed every few days; subscriber snapshots of published channels — every day.
• We do not join any channel and do not access private content; we only compile what everyone can see.

When do we list a channel?

We prefer quality over quantity: empty or abandoned communities are not listed. For a page to be published:

• Channel: at least 250 subscribers and at least 1 post in the last 60 days.
• Group: at least 200 members and a sign of life: at least 1% of members (at least 5 people) online. Large but silent groups — communities with inflated member counts — fail this test.
• Bot: it must have a description of what it does; in addition it must be recommended in at least 3 published channels or added to our list by hand.
• A community whose category could not be determined automatically is not listed until classification is complete.

What do we leave out?

Adult content (18+), gambling and piracy are deliberately kept out of the catalog. Accounts marked "scam" or "fake" by Telegram are not listed either.

Is the data current?

Yes. Subscriber counts and rankings are refreshed automatically every day, and every page shows its last update date. A channel that closes, changes its name or no longer meets the criteria is removed from the list automatically.
